The mermaid's tail and hair are available in several colors; however, the back and arms always remain a natural brown. This ensures that the mermaid's hair and body have the proper contrast that make the piece really "pop" off the walls. "I make the mermaid bodies/tail in a vintage blue, yellow, and green and offer silver, almond (blonde), and fire red for alternating hair colors. The only mermaid color combination that I don't recommend is the yellow body with the almond hair....she turns out with a very redundant contrast."
Each sculpture is carefully oxidized, hand-forged, welded and shaped using traditional blacksmithing and self-taught methods, often using hand crafted tools. Each piece has a unique vintage finish that took Chase years to develop.
Brackets in the back of the mermaids have been designed to hang them swimming left, right, up (out of the water) or down (diving into the water).
