Clean your product after each use. Wipe any food from the surfaces and wash with a warm soapy cloth. Rinse the item under luke warm water and dry immediately.
Through regular use the coloring may lighten. This is normal. As with any wood product the surface must be maintained. We recommend using a beeswax/mineral oil combination to maintain the color and beauty of your product, however common butcher block oil can also be used. A common prescription is "Once a day for a week, once a week for a month, once a month for a year and once a year for life." Doing so will preserve the presentation of your purchase for years of enjoyment.
Should your purchase begin to show excessive cut marks lightly sand the surface with fine sandpaper and finish the surface with a beeswax/mineral oil combination to reseal the sanded area.
If you have purchased our Cherrystone product, the knife should be sharpened regularly using a whetstone or diamond stone. Simply rotate the knife 180 degrees from it's normal position and sharpen the blade in the standard manner.
